Prologue:
All of my life boils down to the heat of this single instant. This is why I was born. This is why my soul exists. For in this grey and forsaken moment, I now know what I have to do, and why. It is not for me. It is for us all.

Goodbye.

Part 1.01:
Long before the millions of atoms and molecules shaped together to form the chunk of floating mass which would later become the lush planet Earth, there was another mass of rock, stone, and carbon. This planet harbored massive oceans, wide deserts, and a huge, lush, forest. And this mass was home to another group of humans.

Before the great kings of England and France, before the empires of Greece and Rome, there was a man who singlehandedly nearly ruined his entire world and all that would follow. He was the first ruler. The first dictator- looked upon with fear and respect, hatred and admiration, obedience and quiet rebellion. He proclaimed himself to be a peacemaker, bringing together the first planetary mass. The whole of society, many centuries after the planet’s creation, was one day brought to its knees by this “Peacemaker.” But such might could not be accomplished without a means to enforce the transition. And that was where the drones came in.

The workers of tomorrow, they were supposed to be. In actuality, our “Peacemaker” developed them with the sole purpose of murder. Spread throughout the great cities of the planet, dormant, waiting to erupt with the force of a volcano at his command. And they erupted like Vesuvius. Their glowing, singular red eye, visible behind black glass protecting the inner workings of their triangle head, only served to promote fear in all who had the audacity to look at one. Even the three tripod legs supporting their monstrous hulking frame were welded to a sharp edge perfect for slicing, maiming, cutting.

With the deaths of the previously representative government, chaos on the streets, and towns aflame, “Peacemaker” came into power and announced himself king of all of the cities. Those cities which resisted his found an army of thousands of drones at their doorsteps within several hours.

Unfortunately for “Peacemaker,” oppression breeds rebellion. Deep within the great forests of the planet, there was one city, rather small and unimpressive, which, like others, refused this new rule. However, their insignificance led “Peacemaker” to promptly ignore them. He took his time dousing any other rebellious fires which sprung up and left the forest city to burn violently in its rage on its own. This city, on the outskirts of civilization, was named Sun. And this city did more than burn in its defiance.

It became an inferno.
So it begins... a day late because I forget things...
